Portland Saturday Market

Blending the energy of an art show, a live street concert, and an open-air bazaar, the Portland Saturday Market has been a cherished Rose City tradition since 1974. In 2024, it earned the prestigious title of “Oregon Heritage Tradition.” As the largest continually operating arts-and-crafts fair in the United States, it welcomes up to one million visitors each season.

From early March through the day before Christmas, this vibrant outdoor market transforms Tom McCall Waterfront Park into a lively hub of creativity. Visitors can stroll through rows of vendor tents showcasing the work of local artisans, makers, and chefs. Live music fills the air, with bluegrass pickers, jazz trios, and other local musicians performing weekly, creating a festive backdrop for shoppers and passersby.

Long before Portland became famous for its food carts, the Saturday Market was a go-to spot for delicious eats. If hunger strikes, indulge in the Northeast African flavors of Horn of Africa, a market staple since 1994. Taste of Poland has been serving up vegetarian pierogi, Polish kielbasa with grilled onions and tomatoes, and chicken cutlet sandwiches with cucumber salad since 1995. Angelina’s Greek Gyros offers freshly made pita wraps with gluten-free and vegan options. And for a sweet treat, PDX Original Elephant Ears has been filling the market air with the irresistible scent of cinnamon sugar since 1975.

With more than 250 vendors offering unique, handcrafted goods, the Saturday Market is the perfect place to find gifts and souvenirs year-round. Shop for fine arts and crafts from the hands of the creator – all handcrafted items are sold by the artisan at Portland Saturday Market.
