For more than a century, our historic lobby has welcomed travelers, artists, and community members alike, serving as a gathering place where music, conversation, and culture come together. Now, we’re excited to continue that tradition as The Benson Jazz Revival expands its summer programming with a focus on Portland’s emerging jazz musicians.
Following a successful relaunch in partnership with Elevate Unity Inc. in September 2025, The Benson Jazz Revival has quickly become a favorite weekly tradition in downtown Portland. Every Wednesday evening, guests and locals gather in our Lobby Lounge to enjoy live performances from some of the Pacific Northwest’s most talented jazz artists while sipping craft cocktails, enjoying local wines, and sharing chef-inspired bites.
This summer, we’re taking that commitment to Portland’s music scene one step further.
Supporting the Future of Jazz
As part of our expanded programming, The Benson Jazz Revival will welcome talented young musicians from local high schools and colleges, providing them with the opportunity to perform in a professional setting alongside established jazz artists.
By creating a stage for emerging performers, we’re investing in the future of Portland’s vibrant jazz community while continuing our long-standing legacy of supporting the arts.

Continuing the Celebration: The Soul of Jazz Summit
The Benson’s celebration of jazz continues on June 13 with the Soul of Jazz Summit in the historic Mayfair Ballroom. Held in honor of Black Music Month, this special evening will bring together the Benson Jazz Revival family, local artists, community members, visitors, and hotel guests for a vibrant night of music, connection, and celebration in the heart of downtown Portland.
Guests can enjoy an evening of food, handcrafted cocktails, and dancing as one of Portland’s premier female vocalists takes the stage, performing an unforgettable mix of jazz, soul, and contemporary favorites. The Soul of Jazz Summit serves as the official kickoff to The Benson Jazz Revival’s summer season and marks the beginning of a new quarterly performance series in the iconic Ballroom. It’s a celebration of the music, culture, and community that continue to make The Benson a gathering place for artists and music lovers alike.
