The Benson’s 55th Annual Gingerbread Masterpiece Reveal
Tuesday, December 1, 2026 | Festivities begin at 5 p.m. | Unveiling at 6 p.m.
One of Portland’s most anticipated holiday traditions returns as The Benson celebrates its 55th Annual Gingerbread Unveiling in the hotel’s historic grand lobby.
Guests of all ages are invited to enjoy an evening of holiday entertainment, including live music, family-friendly activities, a hot chocolate station, and a special appearance by Santa Claus. The highlight of the evening is the unveiling of The Benson’s extraordinary gingerbread masterpiece.
While this year’s design remains a closely guarded secret, hints from the kitchen suggest an enchanting creation inspired by towers, timeless dreams, and a magical destination fit for royalty.
Leading the culinary artistry once again is Executive Chef David Diffendorfer, whose remarkable gingerbread creations have delighted visitors for more than two decades. Together with his talented pastry team, Chef Diffendorfer transforms hundreds of pounds of gingerbread, icing, and confectionery details into an incredible work of edible art.
The celebration also supports the FOX 12 Les Schwab Tire Centers Toy Drive. Guests are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to help bring holiday joy to local children and families.
Following the unveiling, the masterpiece will remain on display in The Benson’s iconic lobby throughout the holiday season.
